What we collect

The CRISPR Atlas is designed to need as little about you as possible. We do not require an account, and there is nothing to log in to.

Cookies and local storage

Health information

We do not knowingly collect health information, and we ask you not to send it. If you write to us about a medical situation, please leave out anything that identifies you or another person. We are not a healthcare provider and are not a covered entity under health privacy laws such as HIPAA; correspondence with us does not carry the protections that a conversation with a clinician does.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. Data is shared only with the service providers needed to run the site: our hosting provider, and the AI provider that generates Ask the Atlas answers. We disclose information if legally required to.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from updates at any time, and you can ask us to delete your email address or a message you sent by writing to us through the contact page. Depending on where you live you may have rights of access, correction, deletion and portability under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; we honour those requests regardless of where you are.

Children

This site is written to be usable by students and is safe to read, but it is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the updated date at the top of this page changes with it.
